From the beginning in 1860, First Baptist has been known as the Gospel Lighthouse on the Shores of Lake Michigan. This is our heritage and continued desire - to know Christ and make Him known as the King of kings and Lord of lords, our only Savior and hope of glory.
In our walk of faith we seek to Shine the Light of Christ, to Share Christ and the Good News, to Love God and others, to Care by meeting needs and to Pray and intercede for others.
If there would be one goal, it would be to help plug people into God’s transforming power, so that they might be changed and transformed forever for His glory!
Welcome! It is a real joy for us to meet newcomers and to tell you about all the good things God is doing in our church family. For over 160 years now it has been our mission to love God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind (Mark 12:30). That means that no matter where you have come from and where you are on your spiritual journey, we want to come alongside to inspire, equip and encourage you to live out a life that will bring glory to God and be a blessing to the world. Jesus meets people where they are in life - not where they think they ought to be!
Jesus simply says: "Come to Me", and we say the same.
"Just come as you are!"
WE'D LIKE TO GET TO KNOW YOU! Please join us on the third Sunday of each month for Meet & Greet after church - an informal fellowship and light lunch. If you have questions about our church, this is a great time to ask! See EVENTS page for details for our next Meet & Greet!
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations. Every year, Samaritan’s Purse has collected shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for children around the world. Since 1993, more than 220 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love
Boxes must be turned in by November 17!
